HMS Endurance Visit and Learn Project

Welcome to the Visit and Learn Website

Together we will track HMS Endurance on her 2006/2007 deployment to Antarctica....
Coming soon - HMS Endurance's 2007/8 deployment. Follow HMS Endurance as she travels from the UK to the continent of Antarctica and `home’ again.

HMS ENDURANCE is the Royal Navy’s Ice Patrol Vessel. She is a 6500 ton Class 1A icebreaker.

Through this website, you can track the passage of HMS ENDURANCE as she tackles her journey from the UK to the cold of the frozen south and `home’ again. Factfiles will be provided about various aspects of the deployment – from information about locations along the route, to explanations of the ship’s work for her main stakeholders: the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign Office, the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office and the British Antarctic Survey.
