With so many Agencies & Celebrities (take a bow Mr Oliver) making an issue as to what goes into our food I thought it would be appropriate to maybe let you make your own burger. I’ve been busy in the Galley and come up with what I call `Beef Burger Perfectione’! In another recipe I have also explained how to make some beautiful light and fluffy rolls to serve your burger in.
Beef Burger Perfectione.
Ingredients
450g lean beef mince
50 g breadcrumbs
1 finely dice onion
Couple of drops of Tabasco
4 finely diced basil leaves
1 egg
Finely crushed black pepper
Small clove of garlic
For the salsa you’ll require:
10 cherry tomatoes
Sprinkle olive oil
½ tablespoon sugar
Preparation
Mix the beef, egg, breadcrumbs, Tabasco, basil & black pepper in a large bowl together. Fry of the garlic & onions together, once soft add to beef mixture. Allow to cool for 10 minutes then thoroughly mix.
Execution
Shape the burger to the required shape and shallow fry in a tiny amount of olive oil until browned on each side, it should take around 4 minutes a side. Whilst the burger is cooking half the cherry tomatoes, if you so desire the salsa, add to a hot pan with the olive oil and the sugar. Allow to simmer for a few minutes until soft. They will start to form a chutney as the sugar combines with the juices of the tomatoes. Serve on top of your freshly cooked burger!
