I am an American wildlife photographer, based in Seattle, Washington. I came to South Georgia aboard the ENDURANCE to gather photographs for a new book, sponsored by the South Georgia Heritage Trust, concentrating on the islands extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.
I travel much of the world every year, photographing animals in the wild. I also work closely with conservation groups such as the World Wildlife Fund. This past year, I have worked in Alaska, Brazil, Russia and Scotland. However, my true love is the Antarctic, ever since working at the US base at McMurdo some twenty-five years ago. The photos I took then started my career, and I have been back several times since.
My wife Marty often accompanies me on my travels, although she stayed home for this one. I also have a daughter and two young grandchildren, who are following our progress on ENDURANCE on the website.
