This small reserve consists of two acres of grassland and foreshore on the Northern bank of Tipner Lake. It is the last remnant of natural shore on the West of the harbour. It is notable for its stands of Common Mallow, wild Carrot, Common Vetch, and autumn Hawkbit. These provide shelter and food for a variety of interesting insects. The butterflies include small copper, green veined white, and the migratory painted lady. Great green bush crickets are more often seen than heard.
