Industry

Argentina’s productivity was originally based around beef and cattle herding on the Pampas. This is still very important, but other industries have also developed. Most manufacturing is centred at Buenos Aires, with food processing, leather goods, textiles, chemicals and cars being important industries. In Patagonia sheep are raised and in the south, oil and natural gas production along with fisheries provide employment. Argentina is lucky to have a lot of natural resources that can be utilised as well, for example zinc, tin and copper.

Argentina is a vast country with a diverse landscape and variety of climatic features. The diversity of its resources has allowed for the development of many industries, although the original methods of income – vineyards and beef – are still very important today.
