A standard day at sea starts off with `call the hands’ at 0700, out of bed, shower and then it’s off to `scran’ (breakfast) by 0730. I hate mornings but once I’ve finally woken up its `turn to’ (start the working day) at 0800. I can either walk up the 6 flights of stairs to the Main Communications Office or just take the lift! How posh!!
